Since 1997, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong & Macao has worked to promote business between Italy, Macau and Hong Kong, as well as providing a common platform for the Italian business community based in Hong Kong.
One of the Chamber’s latest and most memorable efforts was ‘A Roman Experience’, a gala dinner and trunk show which served as the Hong Kong debut of seven Rome-based fashion brands.
The brief
Pico collaborated with another agency to organize the event, from conception to completion. Client priorities included creating a venue design that would display the seven brands to best effect, creating an authentic Roman experience for guests, and delivering all of the above to a tight deadline.
Creative and execution
As well as the client’s brief, the team’s approach to the project was shaped by the challenge of generating interest in brands that were completely new to the Hong Kong market. Requirements and demands that were distinct to each of the seven brands also had to be fulfilled.
The team therefore collaborated closely with each of the brands, as well as with the client, with feedback from all involved helping to drive the design to a mutually satisfying outcome.
Result
Authentic Roman cuisine, an elegantly Roman atmosphere and a dramatic, distinctive presentation assured the seven brands a strong launch in Hong Kong. ‘A Roman Experience’ succeeded in meeting client expectations by attracting 50 discerning guests to its dinner and 20 more to the trunk show.
